Turin has always had a deep, intense, jazz identity, in some ways very close to Paris, european lead city for Jazz Music.
Arti & mestieri, in the 70's, following the 'just born' electric/jazz rock movement opened new doors for this ancient musical city, creating an interesting following for local 'jazz oriented ' musicians.
Now we can find in Turin some world famous jazzmen like Enrico Rava and Flavio Boltro, with many musicians oriented towards a Pre-electric Davis jazz, and others following aspects of contamporary jazz, like Paolo Ricca (World music and soft Fusion), including arti & mestieri's first bass player Marco Gallesi (riff is his album) in the whole album: Paolo Ricca himself has collaborated with Furio Chirico too.
